State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement
The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) is a voluntary agreement among member states, territories, and districts of the United States that establishes one set of national standards for distance education offerings. Massachusetts joined the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) in June 2018. Currently, every state except California has joined SARA, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
MIT has been approved as a SARA-participating institution.
